This picturesque spot also boasts the Hebbe Falls, where one can enjoy the mesmeric sight of water cascading down a height of 168 metres.   • Horanadu A famous holy city for Hindus, Horanadu is situated in the district of Chikamagalur. The city is well known for the majestic Annapoorneshwari Devi Temple which was built in 1973. The temple's main deity Annapoorna has been made of gold and looks truly magnificent.   • Belavadi Belavadi is a village in Chikmagalur , famous for the Veera Narayana temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple showcases the architectural style of the Hoysala dynasty.   • Sringeri Sringeri, is a pilgrimage spot well known for the Vidyashankara Temple located here. The peculiarity of this place is the 12 zodiac pillars on each of which the sun's rays fall according to the different times of the year. Another big reason for its popularity amongst religious tourists is that this is the very place which Adi Shankaracharya is believed to have made his abode for a period of twelve years. He also established the first Shankara Mutt, known as Jagadguru Sri Shankaracharya Mutt of Sringeri out here.
