  • Ranganathittu Bird Santuary: This is a breeding site for different species of birds. You can see birds like Painted Stork, Open-billed Stork, Indian Shag, Great Stone Plover and Black headed Ibis, to name a few.
  • Belur and Halebid: Belur is famous for its magnificent Hoyasala temple complex. Hoyasala Vishnuvardhana built the Chennakeseva temple, which is now a major attraction. Halebid too, has some of the finest Hoyasala temples. The sculptures are spectacular and not to be missed.
  • Shravanabelagola: It is the most important Jain pilgrim destination. It has Asia's tallest monolithic statute of Lord Gomateshwara at a height of 58ft. The statue sits atop the picturesque Vindhyagiri hill.
